This power-packed grain is a great way to mix it up in the morning. Skip the oatmeal and make some of this. More nutrient-dense, it is a great way to start the day satisfied and keeps you full longer.
1/2 c quinoa
1/2 c water
1/2 c milk + more for desired consistency
1 T honey
Dash of cinnamon
Add-ins: peanut butter, dried or fresh fruits, and nuts
Boil the 1 c of liquid and add quinoa.
Cover and let simmer about 15 minutes until all liquid is absorbed.
Add in more milk, or water, to create desired consistency, I added about 1/2 c more milk.
Mix in spices, honey and any other add-ins.
