Pumpkin Beer Bread

Making bread from scratch at home is MUCH easier than people think. You can get a bread machine or use an oven, but regardless you achieve fresh bakery bread with ingredients you control and all sorts of things to do with it. This bread is especially simple and is a great way to ease into the art of bread making. Getting this bread wrong is an art all on its own and then (and only then) should you resist trying to ever bake bread again.

Easily adaptable, it is a hearty bread and can be savory or sweet. Of course to go with my theme for the month, I am aptly using a pumpkin spice beer. My beer of the day used Peddler Brewing Company’s Pumpkin Spice Ale, but feel free to use your favorite pumpkin beer.

Prep Time: 5 min | Bake Time: 30-45 min (varies on oven)
What You Need:

12oz favorite pumpkin beer
4.5tsp baking POWDER
3c flour
1/4tsp salt
Optional: nuts, seeds or cheese

What You Do:
1. Preheat oven to 350F and prep your loaf pan
2. Mix together all ingredients and gently fold in the beer until just incorporated, dough will be thick
3. Pour into loaf pan** and bake for 30-45 until it has a golden crust and an insert comes out clean
**If you want, you can sprinkle some cheese, nuts or seeds over the top before baking
